A little background about Bertie
Rob (Bertie) has lived and worked in Weymouth all of his life. 50+ years now!
After leaving school at 16, Rob took an apprenticeship in boat building at Clark’s Boat Works on Portland.
Following completion of his apprenticeship, Rob attended a weekly day release course for next 4 years at Weymouth College, studying carpentry, joinery and bricklaying, whilst also working at Bathsheba – fitting kitchens, bathrooms and tiling. Rob then attended Weymouth College to study plumbing and electrics whilst working at DEK Electronics.
Rob furthered his skills and career working for Lurhs Marine ( Portland) – Boatbuilding and Bella Kitchens, as a kitchen and bathroom fitter, before moving on to start up AB Installations ( South West) Ltd with his business partner, for the next 9 years, eventually closing down the company in 2019.
BB Installations was founded in 2018, by Rob as a sole trader. Robs’ colleague Simon, whom he worked alongside at AB Installations, now works for BB Installations and continues to support Rob and the business.
